Recovery in demand for accommodation
Sevilla City Office has been a member since 2016 of CityDNA (City Destinations Alliance), a meeting point for European tourist offices, Convention Bureau and DMMO (Destination Management and Marketing Office). The aim is to strengthen alliances between tourism cities through dialogue and exchange of knowledge and best practices for tourism development and analysis.
This graph is produced by one of CityDNA’s partners, Modul University, creator of TourMIS, a tool developed, among others, by researchers from the Department of Tourism of the Modul University of Vienna and the Austrian National Tourist Office.
The data allows us to analyse the demand for accommodation through travellers and overnight stays in both hotel establishments and tourist flats, compared to the year before the pandemic, 2019. In other words, it allows us to see the recovery rate compared to 2019 (estimate based on data from 56 cities providing data to TourMIS).
