Sustainable urban tourism laboratory
A laboratory of innovation in sustainable urban tourism aimed at responding to the urban challenges facing Seville, as a city shared and experienced by residents and visitors.
The laboratory will be organised around missions (inspiring and specific challenges that will mobilise all local productive sectors) in which tourism plays a determining and structuring role.
The laboratory
- Coordinates. Responsible for the execution of all phases of the innovation process.
- Promotes. Presents initial proposals that are analysed, evaluated and developed collectively in the laboratory.
- Transmits. Generates knowledge and academic publications that result in an improvement of the sector and society.
- Organises. Sets the laboratory in motion. Facilitates and dynamises the work.
- Collaborates. It participates in the innovation process by sharing its ideas, knowledge and experiences. Co-designs the response to the challenge or mission posed.
- Mentors. Provides concrete and practical knowledge needed for the missions. Accompanies and inspires by helping to transform ideas into viable initiatives.

Overall summary indicator of tourism activity
This collaboration project between CONTURSA (CONGRESOS Y TURISMO DE SEVILLA, S.A.) and the Pablo de Olavide University is a methodological initiative aimed at defining an integral synthetic indicator of the tourism situation, whose periodic updating will provide an overall view of the evolution of tourism activity in the city of Seville.
Analysis of residents’ and tourists’ interactions with tourism activities in the destination
Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyse the interactions and behaviours of residents and tourists for the city’s tourism activities.
